    Céilí Mór

Céilí Mór, is a free large-scale outdoor, bilingual, participative event which celebrates traditional Irish dance, language and music.

Learn the steps, enjoy the live music from the mainstage and soak up the atmosphere.

Former Riverdancer and champion Irish step-dancer Dearbhla Lennon is one of Ireland’s most celebrated dancers and for over 20 years has been passing on her love and knowledge of dance to students all over the world.

Having hosted The Céilí Mór at Dublin’s St Patrick’s Festival for almost a decade she couldn’t simply allow Covid to get in the way of having a ‘jig-fest’ so for 2020 and 2021 she brought you “Céilí in your Cocoon” with dance instructions for you to enjoy and have fun with in the comfort of your own home!

But now Céilí Mór is back and Dearbhla and her talented friends will be on hand to give basic instruction on some of the most well -known (and simple!) céilí dances with music by the legendary Shandrum Céilí Band.

From Shoe the Donkey to the Walls of Limerick there’ll be something there for all the family.

So, whether you’re a seasoned dancer or have never done a step in your life- you’ll be sure to have a laugh and get into the spirit with Dearbhla & the Shandrum Céilí Band.
